Edge Condition Experiments

We decided that we were quite interested in the edge conditions of the formwork and how the modules can aggregate in a manner that allows them to be continuous in the z-axis as well.  We began playing with tessellating edge conditions that can be rotated in any direction to be aligned.
Sample of an edge condition that can be radially tessellated

Cloth as it was settling onto the form... not quite realistic settings yet--
will have to adjust fabric settings to be less rigid

The fabric as it fell on trial 1... not quite aligned to the curvature of formwork--
perhaps a less complex edge condition is needed?

We will need to find a way to constrain edges of fabric better--
when only tethered at one side, nCloth was pulled into the form's center

Adding dowels across the center of the formwork--
lines that shift in multiple planes could be a solution for different center conditions
